Arrivederci's w/ the Vibes Quartet

On Saturday, May 7th, Valerie and vibraphonist/arranger Mike Horsfall plumb the depths of the jazz trio repertoire and come up with something special...a revitalized sound that swings, sambas, and torches well known and obscure standards that traverse the worlds of jazz, pop, and soul. Joined by the incomparable Phil Baker (bass) and Mark Griffith (drums) Valerie and Mike take you on a musically and emotionally satisfying ride with Mike's harmonically sophisticated and fun arrangements.

In addition to being the vibraphonist in the NU SHOOZ Orchestra and a part of the Brain Chemistry Quartet for "Brain Chemistry For Lovers", Mike has spent many years as one of the tall guys in the jazz trio Tall Jazz. Phil Baker is well known for his work with Pink Martini, and Mark Griffith for his work with The Jaco Pastorius Big Band. It'll be a stellar evening with these "professors" of jazz.
